When you use the resume builder without an account, no data leaves your device. Everything you type is stored in your browser's local storage under the key givemeajob_data. The PDF is generated entirely in your browser using @react-pdf/renderer. There is no server-side record of what you typed.
Additional local storage keys are used for UI preferences (accordion states, template selection, loaded resume ID). These contain no personal information beyond the resume name you chose.
This site uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics tool. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, does not track individuals across sites, and is fully GDPR/CCPA compliant without requiring consent banners. It only records aggregate page view counts and referral sources. No Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar tracking tools are used.
The only cookie set is the Supabase authentication session cookie, which is required for login functionality.
When you create an account, the following is stored in the database (hosted on Supabase):
A session cookie (sb-*-auth-token) is set by Supabase to keep you logged in. This is a functional authentication cookie, not used for tracking. No other cookies are set.
If you save a resume to your account, the full resume JSON (contact info, experience, projects, education, certificates, skills, formatting preferences) is stored in the database. This lets you access it from any device and maintain multiple versions.
When you purchase an interview prep session, the following data is stored in the database and used to generate your playbook:
Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. Your card number, CVV, and billing address are never seen or stored by this site.
What is stored:
Your email address is passed to Stripe as the customer email for checkout. Your user ID and prep session ID are passed as Stripe metadata so the webhook can link the payment to the correct session.
To generate your playbook and follow-up questions, the following data is sent to Anthropic's API:
Your user ID and email are notsent to Anthropic. Anthropic's API terms state that API inputs are not used to train their models.
If you submit the contact form, your name, email, and message are stored in the database so I can respond. No account is required.
The job board displays curated job postings. When you interact with the job board while logged in, the following data is collected:
Job postings on the board are curated and may link to external career pages (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever, company websites). When you click "Apply," you are redirected to the employer's own application page. givemeajob.io does not collect or process the information you submit to those external sites.

API routes log error messages (not request bodies or user content) via console.error for debugging. These logs are retained by the hosting platform (Vercel) according to their retention policy. No resume content, intake answers, or personal information is intentionally logged.
You can access, export, or delete your data at any time. Account deletion is self-service from the Settings page. If you need assistance or want to exercise rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other data protection laws (access, correction, portability, erasure, objection), get in touch.
This service is not directed at children under 16. Personal information from children is not knowingly collected. If you believe a child has provided data, please get in touch and it will be deleted.
This page may be updated from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
By accessing or using givemeajob.io ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and givemeajob.io ("I," "me," or "my").
givemeajob.io provides a free resume builder, a free job application tracker, a curated job board, and a paid interview prep feature. The resume builder works entirely in your browser with no server involvement. The job application tracker, job board, and interview prep feature require an account. Interview prep requires a one-time payment of $6.88 per session. I reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. One account per person. You must notify me immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
I reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at my sole discretion, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Grounds for termination include, but are not limited to: automated scraping, prompt injection attacks, payment fraud, violation of these Terms, or any conduct that I determine to be harmful to the Service or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. I am not liable to you or any third party for any termination of your access.
The Service is a tool to assist with your job search. I do not guarantee that using the Service will result in job interviews, job offers, or employment of any kind. I make no representations about the effectiveness of any resume format, application tracking strategy, or interview preparation material. Your job search outcomes depend on many factors outside my control, including but not limited to market conditions, employer preferences, your qualifications, and your performance in interviews. You are solely responsible for your career decisions.
The job board features curated job postings that may include positions sourced from or linking to third-party career pages (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever, company career sites). I do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or availability of any job listing. Postings may expire, be filled, or be modified by the employer at any time without notice.
When you click "Apply" on a listing, you are redirected to the employer's external application page. I have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy practices, hiring processes, or terms of any external site. Your submission of personal information to those sites is governed by their own policies, not these Terms.
I am not an employer, staffing agency, or employment broker. The presence of a listing on the job board does not constitute an endorsement of the employer or a recommendation to apply. I am not a party to any employment relationship between you and any employer found through the job board.
You retain ownership of all content you provide to the Service (resume data, intake answers, job application data, etc.). By using the Service, you grant me a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process, store, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This license terminates when you delete your content or account.
You represent that you have the right to submit any content you provide and that your content does not violate any third party's rights. I am not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or legality of any content you submit.
Interview playbooks and follow-up questions are generated by AI (Anthropic Claude). While prompts are designed carefully and all output is sanitized, there is no guarantee the content is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your specific situation. AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information.
The quality, depth, and usefulness of your generated playbook depends directly on the content of your resume, the detail of your intake answers, and the specificity of your follow-up responses. Minimal, vague, or incomplete input will produce a less detailed playbook. I am not responsible for playbook output that reflects insufficient or inaccurate input from you. By proceeding with generation, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to provide thorough and accurate information.
The playbook is a study aid, not professional career advice, legal advice, or counseling of any kind. You should review all AI-generated content critically, verify any factual claims independently, and use your own judgment in interviews and career decisions. I am not liable for any decisions you make or actions you take based on AI-generated content.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Each interview prep session is a one-time purchase with no subscriptions or recurring charges. All fees are stated in US dollars and are non-refundable except as described below.
If playbook generation fails due to a technical error on my end, you can retry at no additional cost (your payment and intake data are preserved). If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from receiving your playbook after payment, get in touch and I'll resolve it. Dissatisfaction with the content, quality, or usefulness of a successfully generated playbook is not grounds for a refund, as AI output varies and is subjective.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate termination of your account and, where applicable, referral to law enforcement.
Your resume content belongs to you. Generated playbooks are yours to use for personal interview preparation. The Service's code, design, branding, UI, and AI prompt engineering are the exclusive property of givemeajob.io and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, or commercially exploit any part of the Service without my prior written consent. You may not redistribute generated playbooks commercially or resell access to the Service.
You are solely responsible for maintaining your own backups of any important content. While I take reasonable measures to protect data stored on the Service, I do not guarantee that your data will be preserved, and I am not liable for any loss, corruption, or deletion of data, whether caused by technical failure, security incidents, service discontinuation, or any other reason. Resume data stored in local storage is subject to browser clearing, device loss, and other risks outside my control.
I aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free access to the Service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, server failures, or circumstances beyond my control. I reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time without prior notice or liability. The resume builder's local storage functionality may continue to work offline, but server-dependent features (cloud saves, job tracker, interview prep) require an active internet connection and functioning backend services.
The Service relies on third-party providers including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Anthropic (AI generation), Vercel (hosting), and Sentry (error monitoring). I am not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, or performance of any third-party service. Any outage, data loss, or disruption caused by a third-party provider is not my responsibility. Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. I do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that the results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable, or that any errors in the Service will be corrected.
No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained from me or through the Service, creates any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall givemeajob.io, its owner, operators, affiliates, or service providers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, job opportunities, interview outcomes, career decisions, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if I have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
My total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you have paid to givemeajob.io in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) ten US dollars ($10.00).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, my liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless givemeajob.io, its owner, operators, affiliates, and service providers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of a third party; (d) any content you submit to the Service; or (e) any claim that your content caused damage to a third party. This indemnification obligation will survive the termination of these Terms and your use of the Service.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation by contacting me via the contact page. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within thirty (30) days, it shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be conducted in the English language. Judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Class action waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against givemeajob.io. If this waiver is found to be unenforceable, then the entirety of this arbitration provision shall be null and void (but the rest of these Terms shall remain in effect).
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. To the extent that arbitration is not applicable, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in the State of Delaware for the resolution of any disputes.
I shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing my obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond my reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, acts of government, internet or infrastructure outages, third-party service failures, cyberattacks, pandemics, war, terrorism, labor disputes, or power failures.
I reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
